Funding from Tesco Bags of Help

Funding from Tesco Bags of Help

  • Posted On: 2 November 2018

Way back in November 2017 Chopsticks made an application to Tesco for a grant through their Bags of Help award scheme - which in plain English means that we were asking the public to vote for us by using the little blue tokens they were given with their shopping.  Apparently we were one of the charities you could choose between 1st July and August of this year and I am very happy to say that we came first, granting us £3,965.  As you will see from the attached photos, a representative from Tesco visited Chopsticks on Tuesday and presented us with the cheque.

This means that we can now move forward with our ChopClub project by purchasing some much-needed seating, blackout blinds for the windows upstairs etc.  However, most importantly, by giving your support to establish ChopClub you will help adults with learning disabilities or suffering from mental health issues by providing them with the opportunity to get together and socialise in a safe and supportive environment.

Again, a huge thank you to everyone who voted for us.
