Volunteer With Us

Make a difference. Be part of something meaningful.

Volunteers are a vital part of Chopsticks. Whether you're helping in the Workshop, joining us for a community stall, or supporting members out and about — your time and energy directly support adults with learning disabilities to thrive.

Volunteering here isn’t just about what you can give. It’s about connection, purpose, and being part of a warm, welcoming team.

Why Volunteer

  • Support a great cause – help create opportunities for adults with learning disabilities

  • Use your skills for good – whether it’s DIY, admin, gardening or just being a friendly face

  • Meet new people – our team, members and supporters are a brilliant bunch

  • Give back in a way that fits you – we’ll work around your availability and interests

Whether you're retired and want to stay active, a student looking for experience, or someone with time to spare and a passion for inclusion — there's a place for you here.

One-Off or Ongoing

Some volunteers help regularly each week. Others join us for one-off events or projects. However you want to get involved, we’d love to hear from you.

Corporate or Group Volunteering

We also welcome workplace teams, community groups or students looking for a meaningful volunteering experience. If you're planning a team away day or group project, we can suggest ways to get involved that make a real impact.

Volunteer Roles Might Include

  • Helping out in the Workshop or ChopShed

  • Supporting craft sessions

  • Supporting events and seasonal stalls

  • Gardening alongside our members

  • Sharing your professional skills — e.g. photography, marketing, woodwork or admin

We provide support, guidance and a warm welcome to all new volunteers. No formal experience is needed — just a kind approach and a willingness to get stuck in.
